Josephine Jung

Josephine Jung is a screenwriter, playwright, and filmmaker from Seoul who is currently based in New York. Her work often explores themes of connection, communication, and grief, and is especially interested in interrogating the role of love in human connection. Josephine gravitates towards stories that have a melancholy but tender tone, a quality that is also a characteristic of her own work.

Josephine received her BA in Liberal Arts with a major in Film Studies from King's College London, an MPhil in Film and Screen Studies from the University of Cambridge, and an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She has a background in journalism and film production, working on projects such as AppleTV+'s Pachinko before transitioning into screenwriting. Her screenplay, The Sea Women, won the Green Violet script call in 2025.
